Artist Biography

June started her art career as a wheelthrown stoneware potter after attending Antioch College 1960-1962 and Haystack School of Crafts for weaving and pottery. She taught pottery for 25yrs at her home studio in Wrentham Ma. and at Adult Ed. night school in Sharon and Foxboro while raising a family. Her pottery sold in several Cape Cod shops.

June completed her BA degree in Fine Art from Bridgewater College with highest honors in 1987 and was awarded the Gloria Tibbits Award. She displayed her watercolors in gallery shows and was a member of the Milford Art Guild and Franklin Art Ass. for many years. Her paintings received many awards and they are part of private collections.

June and her husband winter in Florida where she has been a member of the Suncoast watercolor Society since 1989 and was president from 2004-2006. As a member of the Longboat Key Art Center and the Art Center Manatee June exhibited her paintings in their juried shows. She is also a signature member of the Rhode Island Watercolor Society and has had several shows in the area. June received a memorial award from the RIWS National Show 2009.

After moving to Vermont, June joined the Catamount Arts in St Johnsbury and had a one person show 2012. She has exhibited her watercolors at the Red Barn and Round Barn in Waitsfield VT.

Traveling with her husband, June's paintings reflect different areas. She feels that the watercolor media brings a fresh spontaneous effect that allows color to blend in a beautiful light quality. June enjoys painting on location or from her photographs.
